Located in Sam Houston Park, you can tour an 1850’s Greek Revival home, St. John Evangelical Lutheran church which was built in 1891 and the oldest structure in the country, a log cabin built in 1825 and moved here from Clear Creek. The complex offers a total of nine restored structures, giving visitors a real insight into the history of Houston’s development. Docent-led tours are available throughout the week; the museum gallery’s admission is free! The 10-acre park is open to the public, so utilize it at your leisure as well.
