Did you know it took an Act of Congress in 1866 to create six all African American Army units? Out of respect for their fierce fighting ability, these soldiers were nicknamed “Buffalo Soldiers” by the Cheyenne Indians. Visitors enjoy the interactive, multi-media exhibits at this museum, which focus on the men and women who have served in every armed conflict from the Revolutionary War to the Persian Gulf War.
